You cannot recover a terminated instance of FAW from the OCI console. When you terminate an instance, all the resources associated with it are permanently deleted, including the OAC instance, the ADW instance, and the data warehouse. You will have to re-create your instance and restore it from a snapshot if you have one7. You cannot recover a terminated instance by opening a Service Request (SR) with Oracle support or by clicking a button from the OCI console. 

To create custom data security to meet your data security requirements, you need a combination of steps in Security Console and the Security Configurations in the Semantic Model Extensions available at the FAW Console. The Security Console allows you to create custom data roles and assign them to users or groups5. The Security Configurations allow you to define custom security filters and apply them to dimensions, facts, or subject areas6. You do not need to use only the Security Configurations or modify the Data Security Assignment file for this purpose. 

The data sources that are available for Data Augmentation are Fusion Applications and additional data connections that are available in FAW. You can use Manage Connections to create connections to various data sources, such as Oracle Database, Oracle Autonomous Database, Oracle Object Storage, Oracle Applications Cloud, and others4. You can then use Data Augmentation to select the columns from these data sources and create datasets for analysis

The security privilege that is required by the user to activate UCC and FAW in your Oracle Cloud account is to be a Cloud Account Administrator in the Oracle Cloud account. The Cloud Account Administrator is responsible for activating UCC and FAW subscriptions, managing users and roles, configuring security settings, monitoring service usage, and performing other administrative tasks6. The user does not need to be a Business Administrator or have no special security privileges to activate UCC and FAW in the Oracle Cloud account.

The highly recommended best practice is to activate your new UCC subscription into your Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications account followed by activating your Oracle Fusion Analytics Warehouse subscription into the same Oracle Cloud account as your Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications12

Data Augmentation is a feature in FAW that supports both data movement and semantic model extensibility to provide missing data elements. Data Augmentation allows you to extract data from additional data sources that are not part of the FAW data pipeline and load them into ADW. You can then use the data to customize the semantic model and create new dimensions, facts, and subject areas2

As a FAW Service Administrator, you have access to two consoles: the FAW console and an OAC console. The FAW console is used to manage the FAW service, such as setting up data sources, loading data, monitoring data pipelines, and configuring users and roles. The OACconsole is used to access the prebuilt dashboards and reports, as well as create and customize your own analytics content. However, the OAC console has limited functionality as compared to the standalone OAC platform service, such as restricted access to data sources, data flows, and data sets4

To scale up your associated Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse (ADW) and OAC as part of your FAW customization, you need an OCI Administrator with access to OCI pages for OAC and ADW instances. The OCI Administrator can use the OCI Console or APIs to scale up or down the compute resources (CPU cores) or storage resources (terabytes) for both ADW and OAC instances

To back up your extensions and all custom artifacts in FAW, you can use snapshots. Snapshots are a feature in FAW that allows you to create a backup of your service instance, including the semantic model, data sets, reports, dashboards, and other analytics content2. You can also restore your service instance from a snapshot if needed3. OAC built-in utilities and FAW bundles are not available for backing up FAW artifacts
