While CloudPhysics is a powerful tool for analyzing virtualized VMware environments, it does not natively gather the same level of granular performance data from " bare metal " (non-virtualized) servers. For a large-scale assessment of 100 servers with a " mixed " workload profile, the Storage Assessment Foundry (SAF) Collector is the more appropriate tool. The SAF Collector is designed to discover and gather performance metadata across a wide variety of infrastructures, including various hypervisors and physical operating systems. It provides a holistic view of the environment ' s actual resource consumption, which is critical for designing a consolidated edge-to-cloud solution. By using SAF Collector, the architect can ensure that the resource requirements for both the virtual machines and the physical servers are accurately captured and factored into the final solution design. HPE Zerto is the specific solution designed to meet recovery point objectives (RPO) of seconds and recovery time objectives (RTO) of minutes. Its Continuous Data Protection (CDP) technology uses a journaling mechanism that captures every write as it happens, allowing the customer to " rewind " to a point in time just seconds before a ransomware attack occurred. This capability directly addresses the requirement for a backup environment that is " seconds behind " production. Furthermore, Zerto enables the customer to non-disruptively spin up clones of their production environment for test and development. Because these replicas are based on the continuous stream of data, the dev/test environment is a near-identical copy of production, ensuring high-fidelity testing. While Veeam and Commvault are robust data protection platforms, they typically rely on snapshot schedules that result in RPOs of minutes or hours, rather than the " seconds " required here. HPE StoreOnce demonstration license is a temporary license that enables StoreOnce Catalyst and Replication features for 90 days. However, due to legal restrictions in some countries, the encryption feature is excluded from the demonstration license. The HPE Storage Assessment Foundry (SAF) ecosystem is designed to streamline the sales and architecting process. Once the SAF Collector and SAF Analyse tools have successfully gathered and processed the performance data (such as IOPS, throughput, and latency) from a customer ' s existing third-party or legacy HPE array, the next step is to right-size the replacement solution. NinjaSTARS (and the cloud-based Ninja Online) is the primary tool for this purpose. It allows architects to import the performance data files directly from SAF. By doing so, NinjaSTARS can model how that specific workload would perform on modern platforms like HPE Alletra or HPE Nimble Storage.  HPE GreenLake Private Cloud Enterprise is a fully managed cloud service that delivers a unified self-service infrastructure provisioning experience to IT and application administrators and developers 1 .  It supports the deployment of bare metal, containers, and virtual machines workloads across datacenters, colocation facilities, or edge locations 1 .  It also provides a consistent cloud experience across any application or workload, whether traditional or cloud-native 1 .

One of the workload services offered as part of HPE GreenLake Private Cloud Enterprise is VMware ESXi virtual machines.  VMware ESXi is a hypervisor that enables the creation and management of virtual machines on a physical server 2 .  VMware ESXi virtual machines can run various operating systems and applications, and can be migrated, cloned, or backed up using VMware tools 2 .  HPE GreenLake Private Cloud Enterprise integrates with VMware vCenter Server to provide a seamless user interface for provisioning and managing VMware ESXi virtual machines 3 .  Users can also leverage VMware vRealize Automation and vRealize Operations for advanced automation and orchestration capabilities 3 .

Another workload service offered as part of HPE GreenLake Private Cloud Enterprise is Bare Metal servers.  Bare Metal servers are physical servers that are dedicated to a single tenant and do not run any hypervisor or virtualization layer 4 .  Bare Metal servers can offer higher performance, security, and customization than virtual machines, as they eliminate the overhead and complexity of virtualization 4 .  HPE GreenLake Private Cloud Enterprise enables users to provision and manage Bare Metal servers using a self-service portal or an API 5 .  Users can also choose from various server models, configurations, and operating systems to suit their workload needs 5 .

The other options, such as Microsoft Azure Stack HCI, Microsoft Hyper-V virtual machines, Google Distributed Cloud Hosted, and serverless functions, are not workload services offered as part of HPE GreenLake Private Cloud Enterprise.  Microsoft Azure Stack HCI and Microsoft Hyper-V virtual machines are alternative virtualization solutions that are not supported by HPE GreenLake Private Cloud Enterprise 1 . Google Distributed Cloud Hosted is a cloud service that extends Google Cloud Platform to customer premises or edge locations, but it is not integrated with HPE GreenLake Private Cloud Enterprise.  Serverless functions are a cloud computing model that executes code without requiring users to provision or manage servers, but they are not available as a workload service in HPE GreenLake Private Cloud Enterprise 1 .

Spreading the infrastructure across additional racks can help reduce the power density per rack and avoid exceeding the 5kW limit of the customer’s data center. This option may require more space and cabling, but it can preserve the performance and availability of the planned solution. Hosting the compute solution with a colocation provider can also help overcome the power constraint of the customer’s data center, as well as provide other benefits such as scalability, security, and connectivity. This option may incur additional costs and complexity, but it can also enable the customer to access cloud services and hybrid solutions more easily.
