Amazon EFS is an NFS-based file system, designed for Linux/Unix environments. Windows does not natively support NFSv4 without additional configuration (and is often not reliable).

From the Amazon EFS documentation:

Amazon EFS is not designed for use with Microsoft Windows EC2 instances.

For Windows workloads that require shared storage, use Amazon FSx for Windows File Server, which supports the SMB protocol.

B: IAM is not used for mounting file systems like EFS.

C: Windows support for NFS is limited and complex, and not recommended.

D: Opening the NFS port won't help because Windows can't reliably mount NFSv4 volumes.

If a Lambda function is not being invoked by an Amazon EventBridge (formerly CloudWatch Events) rule, the likely issue is a missing permission. The Lambda function needs permission to be invoked by the EventBridge rule.

Steps:

Add Permission to Lambda Function:

Open the AWS Lambda console.

Select your Lambda function.

Choose "Configuration" and then "Permissions".

Under the "Resource-based policy" section, add a policy that grants EventBridge permission to invoke your function.

Verify the EventBridge Rule:

Open the Amazon EventBridge console.

Select the rule that targets your Lambda function.

Ensure that the rule is correctly configured to match events and the target is your Lambda function.

When setting up an AWS managed VPN connection and creating a customer gateway resource, if the customer gateway device resides behind a NAT device, you should use the public IP address of the NAT device. This is because the VPN connection from AWS will be established to the public IP address that AWS can reach.

Identify the Public IP Address of the NAT Device:

Determine the public IP address assigned to the NAT device in front of the customer gateway.

Create Customer Gateway Resource:

Navigate to the VPC console in the AWS Management Console.

In the navigation pane, choose "Customer Gateways" and then click "Create Customer Gateway".

Enter a name for the customer gateway.

For the "IP Address", enter the public IP address of the NAT device.

Configure VPN Connection:

Create a VPN connection by navigating to the "VPN Connections" section and clicking "Create VPN Connection".

Select the created customer gateway and complete the VPN setup wizard.

Update Routing and Configuration:

Ensure that the routing configurations on both the AWS side and the on-premises side are updated to route traffic through the VPN connection.

Configure the customer gateway device (behind the NAT) to accept traffic from the NAT device and route it appropriately.

To ensure that the application running on an Amazon EC2 instance can read, write, and delete messages from the SQS queues in the most secure manner, the recommended approach is to use IAM roles for EC2 instances. This approach avoids the need to embed or export long-term AWS credentials, which can be a security risk.

Create an IAM Role for EC2:

Navigate to the IAM console in the AWS Management Console.

Choose "Roles" in the navigation pane, then click "Create role".

Select "AWS service" as the type of trusted entity and choose "EC2" as the use case. Click "Next: Permissions".

Attach the Required Permissions:

On the "Attach permissions policies" page, you can either select an existing policy or create a custom policy.

For a custom policy, click "Create policy" and use the following JSON policy to allow the required SQS actions:

Assign the Role to the EC2 Instance:

After creating the role with the necessary permissions, navigate to the EC2 console.

Select the instance that needs access to the SQS queues.

In the "Actions" menu, choose "Security", then "Modify IAM role".

Attach the newly created IAM role to the instance.

Verify the Permissions:

Ensure that the IAM role is properly attached to the EC2 instance.

Test the application to confirm that it can successfully perform the required actions (read, write, delete) on the SQS queues.

The best combination of steps to meet this requirement is to sign in to the new account by using root user credentials and change the support plan, and to create an IAM user that has administrator privileges in the new account.

Signing in to the new account by using root user credentials will allow the SysOps administrator to access the account and change the support plan to AWS Business Support. Additionally, creating an IAM user that has administrator privileges in the new account will ensure that the SysOps administrator has the necessary access to manage the account and make changes to the support plan if necessary.

To resolve the issue of an AWS Lambda function unable to connect to a database that has been moved to a private subnet, the Lambda function needs to be connected to the same VPC as the database. This is done by configuring the Lambda function with VPC access. This involves specifying the VPC, subnets, and security groups for the Lambda function so that it can communicate with the database using its private endpoint. Option B is correct as it directly addresses the issue without compromising security. Adding a Route to the Route Tables:

When new subnets are created, they need appropriate routing to ensure communication with on-premises networks.

Steps:

Go to the AWS Management Console.

Navigate to VPC.

Select the route table associated with the new subnets.

Choose "Edit routes."

Add a new route with the destination CIDR block of the on-premises network.

For the target, select the virtual private gateway (VGW).

This ensures that traffic destined for the on-premises network is routed correctly through the VPN connection.

RI discounts apply to accounts in an organization's consolidated billing family depending upon whether RI sharing is turned on or off for the accounts. By default, RI sharing for all accounts in an organization is turned on. The management account of an organization can change this setting by turning off RI sharing for an account. The capacity reservation for an RI applies only to the account the RI was purchased on, no matter whether RI sharing is turned on or off.
