Remember that dragging a discrete value to colour creates distinct colours for each item whereas dragging a continuous value to colour creates a gradient. ( Same for Map )

 You can use the Color legend to access options to change a dimension’s color palette, in addition to the Marks card. The Color legend shows the colors assigned to each member of the dimension in the view. You can right-click on the Color legend and select Edit Colors to open the Edit Colors dialog box, where you can change the color palette, assign specific colors to dimension members, or edit the color transparency and border6 The other options are not valid ways to change a dimension’s color palette. Edit in Shelf is a feature that allows you to edit the fields on the Rows or Columns shelves by typing directly on the shelf. It does not affect the color palette of the dimension7 The Format menu allows you to change the appearance of various elements in the workbook, such as fonts, borders, shading, alignment, etc. It does not have options for changing the color palette of the dimension8 Edit Caption is a feature that allows you to add or edit a caption for a worksheet or dashboard. It does not affect the color palette of the dimension

Right click on any measure, and choose Discrete as shown:

Once you do this, the green pill becomes blue in colour, indicating that it is now Discrete!

In Tableau, you can aggregate measures or dimensions, though it is more common to aggregate measures. Whenever you add a measure to your view, an aggregation is applied to that measure by default. The type of aggregation applied varies depending on the context of the view.

When you add a measure to the view, Tableau automatically aggregates its values. Sum, average, and median are common aggregations; for a complete list, see List of Predefined Aggregations in Tableau.

The current aggregation appears as part of the measure's name in the view. For example, Sales becomes SUM(Sales). Every measure has a default aggregation which is set by Tableau when you connect to a data source. You can view or change the default aggregation for a measure—see Set the Default Aggregation for a Measure.

You can change the aggregation for a measure in the view from its context menu:

 You can share a dashboard as an image file by using one of the following methods: Export Image on the Dashboard menu, or a dashboard export button. Export Image on the Dashboard menu allows you to export the dashboard as an image file in BMP, JPEG, PNG, or SVG format. A dashboard export button is a custom button that you can create on your dashboard to export it as an image file using a URL action

a calculated field that has a formula of SUM(Sales)/SUM(Profit) is a measure, because it returns a numeric value that can be aggregated and used for analysis. A parameter is a user-defined variable that can be used in calculations or filters. A dimension is a categorical field that can be used to group or slice data. A set is a subset of data based on some condition.

Dashboard actions in Tableau are interactive elements that can be used to create a more dynamic experience. These actions can be set to filter data on the dashboard, highlight specific elements, or even direct the user to a URL when interacting with a visualization. They can be triggered by user interaction such as hover, selection, or accessing a context menu. Moreover, dashboard actions can have multiple source sheets (where the action originates) and target sheets (where the action takes effect), allowing for a complex interactivity between different parts of the dashboard.

When we create a reference line, we get the following 3 options for the scope:

Using the Sample superstore as a reference:

1) Let's plot a bar chart showing SUM(Quantity) for each Segment:

2) Right click on the x-axis (Segment):

Notice we don't have an option to edit the axis, only header. This is because only continous values form the AXIS.

3) Similarly, right click on the y-axis (Quantity):

Now we have the option to edit BOTH the axis and the header.
